"Take nothing for granted as beautiful or ugly." - Frank Lloyd Wright

Because I am always looking to find something visually interesting with a camera, sometimes I get lucky and actually take a good photo.  I end up with a camera because I may need photos for artistic reference, or to document an event- but mostly I am trying to find something visually exciting everywhere I go.  I am not a photographer,  I rely on the principles of observation and wild luck.

fireworks I 2010

The intricate décor of a hand-crafted old world Italian home- it's like a fantasy land for the eyes.

I have a lot of information on this site about what "art" is, or where to find art- and while I can't quite put my finger on what this house is...this is art.  This is my wife's grandmothers house.  Whether you consider this to be expression, or kitsch- it should not diminish the effect entering this home has upon anyone.  The more I go there the more I can't help but think that the 80's kitsch artist Jeff Koons would have had an orgasm in this place.  Everything is altered- check out the butterflies that Jesus is praying to, or the fake dove peeking out of the golden urn, or the alarm clock sewn onto the back of the couch decorated with puffy paint.  They have a huge garden, but they also have a large area of plastic plants and animals.  Every visit is an adventure, it almost drives a granddaughter to drink on the holidays.
