"If knowledge can can create problems, it is not through ignorance that we can solve them."  - Isaac Assimov

Specifics: the how & what of my artwork

Paintings: are generally mixed media work with a combination of a base drawings in charcoal, layers of acrylic paint, collage, and finished in oil paint.  All paintings are varnished and sealed with a matte medium.  All paintings are applied to Arches 300lb. watercolor paper with a gesso prepared surface, or masonite with a gesso prepared surface.  The paper sizes range from 8 x 10 in. up to 20 x 24 in. plus, masonite is generally in the 20x30 inch range.  Every painting does not contain collage, or the same layers, but all are prepared and finished with a high level of craftsmanship and care.

Sketchbook work:  is mixed media work on 80lb. acid free Canson paper.  The images are generally handled in ink, Berol Marker, Prismacolor pencils, Acrylic paint, with ocassional masking tape or collage elements.  All images are prepared on a 7 x 7 in. sheet.  All images are crafted to be as archival as possible, and finished with a variety of fade resistant coatings.   As I have ocassionally utilized digital components with freelance illustration, some of the work may also be partially digital (prints only).

Blind Dog Furniture:  is mixed media materials on reclaimed or handmade furniture and home items.  Work can be viewed HERE
