Information

"If knowledge can can create problems, it is not through ignorance that we can solve them."  - Isaac Assimov

 How & what

Paintings: are generally mixed media work with a combination of a base drawings in charcoal, layers of acrylic paint, collage, and finished in oil paint.  All paintings are varnished and sealed with a matte medium.  All paintings are applied to Arches 300lb. watercolor paper with a gesso prepared surface.  The paper sizes range from 8 x 10 in. up to 20 x 24 in. plus.  Every painting does not contain collage, or the same layers, but all are prepared and finished with a high level of craftsmanship and care. Recent work has been a trial on large masonite and other surfaces, but with all the same layering.

Sketchbook work:  is mixed media work on 80lb. acid free Canson paper.  The images are generally handled in ink, Berol Marker, prismacolor, masking tape, and collage.  All images are prepared on a 7 x 7 in. sheet.  All images are crafted to be as archival as possible, and finished with a variety of fade resistant coatings.  Recent work has also included layers of acrylic paint, and as I have recently been utilizing digital components, some of the work may also be partially digital.

 Preliminary sketches & research
